East Region Squad - Preston 2011
The East Region Athletics Squad competed at the Nationwide Disability Sport Events National Athletics Championship on 9th/10th July in Preston. The East squad was the 4th biggest team in the competition and with some outstanding performances and tremendous team spirit achieved 2nd place overall.
The 38 athletes achieved a total of 100 medals which included 69 golds! The squad was made up from talented young people from Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Luton, Norfolk and Suffolk.
The team spirit was the greatest asset of the East squad, demonstrated by the incredible determination and support during the 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relay races.
